The Student Senate is hosting a Battle of the Schools spirit week on April 20–24. The goal of the week is to encourage spirit-building within and between schools.
Belonging does not happen by chance. It is something we build together.
From April 13 to 17, 2026, schools across the Ottawa Catholic School Board will mark Standing Against Racism Week, a time to reflect, learn, and take meaningful action so that every student feels they have a place.
This year’s theme, Beloved Community, focuses on creating schools where everyone is welcomed, valued, and included, and where our commitment to Build Bridges is lived each day.
Standing Against Racism Week invites students and staff to look at how we build inclusive school communities and where we can do better.
Across the system, schools will engage in conversations, classroom activities, and shared experiences centred on respect, understanding, and connection. It is about learning from one another, celebrating diversity, and continuing to strengthen school communities where everyone feels they belong.
“Together, we are bigger than cancer.”
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are excited to invite your child to participate in St. Joseph Catholic High School’s Relay for Life, taking place on May 8th, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
This student-led event is more than just a relay—it is an opportunity for students to come together in support of a meaningful cause. Participants will help raise funds for cancer research, prevention, and support programs through the Canadian Cancer Society. Our goal this year is to raise $30,000, and we would love for your child to be a part of making this happen.
Why should your child participate?
Make a Meaningful Impact: Your child will help support cancer research and programs that assist patients and families
Build Connection & School Spirit: Be part of a supportive, student-led event that brings the school community together
Develop Valuable Skills: Gain leadership, teamwork, and communication experience
Have a Fun & Memorable Experience: Enjoy activities, games, and entertainment throughout the event
Be Recognized: Earn certificates, trophies, and fundraising incentives
How to Get Involved:
Signing up is simple! Your child can register by scanning the QR code below or using the provided link: https://www.relayforlife.ca/StJosephCHS.
The registration fee is $20 which can be paid online through the registration process. Otherwise, the registration fee can be paid at school in-person using cash or tap.
If students have any questions, they can stop by Room 242 during high school lunch or 7 & 8 Room 341 and we’d be happy to help!
Thank you for supporting your child’s involvement in this impactful event. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer.
Sincerely,
Relay for Life Committee

Final Assessments – Exams and RSTs
Grade 9 - 12 students’ examinations and Rich Summative Tasks (RSTs) WILL NOT be rescheduled for holiday or travel convenience, and all appointments should be scheduled so as not to conflict with exams and RSTs. If a medical problem arises, a Vice Principal must be contacted prior to the exam or RST.
Students and Parents/Guardians can refer to the OCSB website for the Grade 9 - 12 calendar. These calendars identify the first and last day of school, PD days, Statutory Holidays, Board Holidays, and High School exams. As a general rule, it is prudent to avoid any planned student absences during the months of January and June, as this is when RSTs and exams are scheduled.
OCSB is hosting a major OCSB Skilled Trades Parent Information Night on Tuesday, March 31st, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at St. Peter High School.
Data shows that parents are the #1 influencer in a student's career path, but they often have outdated views of the trades. This night is designed to show families the reality of these high-tech, high-paying careers. The CEO of Skills Ontario keynoting and the Tech Trailer will be on-site.
