Message From the Principal
Dear St. Joseph Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, I am writing to share some important leadership updates for the upcoming fall. At the conclusion of this year, I will not be returning as Principal of St. Joseph.
Serving this school has been a true privilege. The St. Joseph's sense of community is something incredibly special, and I am profoundly grateful for the unwavering support that our staff, students, and you - our parents and guardians - have shown me during my time here. It is your collaborative spirit and dedication that make St. Joe's such a remarkable place.
I also want to share that our wonderful Vice-Principal, Meagan Morris, will be moving to a new school next year. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Ms. Morris for her incredible dedication and the lasting impact she has made on our school. Please join me in wishing her the "luck of the Irish" as she takes on her exciting new role as Principal at St. Patrick High School.
While it is difficult to say goodbye, I am thrilled to introduce the exceptional leadership team that will be guiding St. Joe's next year:
Daria Borland will be joining you as the incoming Principal. Ms. Borland comes to St. Joe's from St. Pius and brings a wealth of leadership experience, having successfully served as a Vice-Principal across three different high schools.
Alison Kinahan will be joining as your new Vice-Principal. Ms. Kinahan comes from Holy Trinity, bringing with her extensive and valuable experience as a Vice-Principal.
I know that this wonderful community will embrace both Ms. Borland and Ms. Kinahan with the exact same warmth, welcome, and support that you have so generously given me.
Thank you once again for a fantastic journey together.

The cafeteria will close on June 28th!
Hold on to Your Student ID Card
Keep your current Student ID Card as it will still be valid and used at the start of the next school year. Holding on to your ID helps ensure a smooth return in September!
OCSB Summer School: Registration Open
When: July 2 – July 23rd, 2026
Who Can Attend: Any student from any school board can join us. You do not need to be an OCSB student to participate.
Registration Deadline: June 19, 2026 at 3:00 pm

Class of 2026: Graduation Information
Ceremony:
Our Graduation Ceremony will take place at the Cohere Centre (formerly the EY Centre), located at 4899 Uplands Drive.
Graduates are expected to arrive by 7:30 a.m. and enter through the doors on the right side of the building. Students will gather in the hall adjacent to the ceremony space, where they will be organized alphabetically and receive a final review of the ceremony procedures.
Doors will open to guests at 8:30 a.m., and the ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. There is a parking fee at the Cohere Centre.
Tickets:
Each graduate will receive four tickets to the Graduation Ceremony.
Tickets will be distributed to graduates in the Dance Room on Monday, June 22 and Tuesday, June 23 from 8:30 am to 11:00 am.
Cap, Stole, and Gown:
In addition to receiving their tickets on Monday, June 22 and Tuesday, June 23, graduates will also receive their cap, stole, and gown in the Dance Room.
Photography:
There will be a photography company at the ceremony. They will take a picture as your child crosses the stage and receives their diploma, and then another photograph in front of a display along the side as they return to their seat. Instructions on how to access these photographs will be included in your child's composite folder, handed out to each student.
Attire:
Graduation is a formal occasion, and it has been past practice that graduates wear business or semi-formal attire that is comfortable and suitable for walking across the stage and taking photographs. Please note that graduates will be wearing a gown throughout the ceremony.
Immediately Following the Ceremony:
Students will be presented with a commemorative diploma as they cross the stage during the ceremony. Official diplomas will be distributed immediately following the ceremony in the adjacent hall.
Age of Consent: 18+ Consent Requirement for Communication
As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to remind families of information shared earlier in the semester and available on our school website regarding students who are 18 years of age or older.
Once a student turns 18, they are considered an adult under Ontario privacy legislation (MFIPPA). As a result, schools are not permitted to share personal student information, including graduation status, attendance, and event details, with parents or guardians without the student’s written consent.
To ensure you continue to receive important year-end updates (including graduation information), consent must be provided through the Over 18+ Parent Portal Consent Access form.
Students who are 18 or older can complete this form by logging into their Compass Student Portal using their OCSB credentials, navigating to the Forms section, and submitting the required consent.
Once submitted, parent/guardian access to applicable information will be updated by the next school day.

Wed. June 24 - 7 & 8 Report Cards posted on Parent Portal and distributed to students at the end of the day (paper)
Thurs. June 25 - Gr. 12 Graduation Day at 9:00 a.m. Cohere Centre (formerly the EY Centre), located at 4899 Uplands Drive.
Fri. June 26 - PD Day - No School for students
Thurs. July 2 - Gr. 9-12 Report Cards posted to Parent Portal
Thurs. July 2 - Gr. 9-12 OCSB Summer School in-person (St. Matthew & St. Pius X) and E-Learn Reach Ahead Courses begin
Fri. July 3 - Gr. 9-10 Credit Recovery begins (Holy Trinity, St. Pius X, St. Mother Teresa, St. Patrick & St. Matthew)
Final Assessments – Exams and RSTs
Grade 9 - 12 students’ examinations and Rich Summative Tasks (RSTs) WILL NOT be rescheduled for holiday or travel convenience, and all appointments should be scheduled so as not to conflict with exams and RSTs. If a medical problem arises, a Vice Principal must be contacted prior to the exam or RST.
Students and Parents/Guardians can refer to the OCSB website for the Grade 9 - 12 calendar.
These calendars identify the first and last day of school, PD days, Statutory Holidays, Board Holidays, and High School exams. As a general rule, it is prudent to avoid any planned student absences during the months of January and June, as this is when RSTs and exams are scheduled.
